Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk: ‘I don’t want a new stadium’

Nissan Stadium, the current home of the Tennessee Titans, is 20 years old this month.

At this age, ideas of renovation and and rebuilding come to the table.

But according to Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk, building a new place for the team to play games in won’t be necessary.

“I don’t want a new stadium,” she said per co-host Paul Kuharsky on 104.5 The Zone. “But I do like the Hard Rock Stadium [where the Miami Dolphins play]. That’s a very interesting model and one that we need to keep looking further at to make improvements.”

If Strunk is looking to make Nissan Stadium more like Hard Rock Stadium, the renovation project may not be as expensive as building an entirely new arena, but they won’t be cheap.

The improvements to Hard Rock totaled about $425 million; $350 million of which was privately financed.

Strunk went on to say that the “stadium doesn’t win football games” and would rather focus on what the fans get out of the experience.

“That’s important to me: Fan experience. We have a lot of areas we get better at every year. We’ve got to just keep looking down the road for what would be the best thing for our stadium to become.”

Nissan Stadium was originally built in 1997 for a total cost $290 million and holds over 69,000 people.
