It’s not just the players on the field who have taken big hits for the Tennessee Titans lately.
Titans coach Mike Vrabel was blindsided by side judge Eugene Hall after wandering into his path last week in the team’s 28-12 postseason road win over the Baltimore Ravens.
“I didn’t go to the ground, he didn’t knock me down,” Vrabel said when he met with reporters on Thursday. “Eugene (Hall) can run, and he’s big and he’s fast.”
Vrabel said he was embarrassed about the incident, because if he were to get a penalty over it, it wouldn’t exactly be the best look for a coach who constantly preaches on eliminating costly penalties and staying disciplined on the field.
“I showed the team this morning, because I knew they were going to laugh at me anyway,” he said.
“I’ve got to do a better job of getting the hell out of the way,” Vrabel joked.
We can expect to see Vrabel be much more aware of his surroundings as the Titans prepare to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday’s AFC Championship matchup at Arrowhead Stadium.
