Titans CB Adoree’ Jackson pays burial expenses for teen

Tennessee Titans cornerback Adoree’ Jackson has found himself in the news for a good deed off of the football field.

Jackson and his business partner James Moore paid the expenses for Jaylon McKenzie last weekend, according to a source close to the Jackson family.

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott also helped make arrangements to cover funeral expenses. Elliott paid for the funeral services, while Jackson and his partner covered the burial.

McKenzie, eighth-grade football player at Mason-Clark Middle School in East Saint Louis, Illinois, was killed by a stray bullet as he was leaving a party on May 5.

A 15-year-old girl was also struck, and is in critical condition.

While young, McKenzie was already showing promise to pave a path into the NFL. Even though he hadn’t even made it beyond middle school, he was being featured in Sports Illustrated and already had received scholarship offers from multiple programs, including the University of Illinois.

He was also invited to take part in the All-American All-Star Game in Canton, Ohio, during the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction weekend last August.

NFL Network originally reported on the story.
