Titans CB Adoree’ Jackson could have avoided misplay by being more aggressive

Thursday wasn’t Adoree’ Jackson’s best day.

The Tennessee Titans cornerback’s biggest miss of the day in the 27-10 road victory over the Philadelphia Eagles  was a play that could have resulted in an interception, but instead ended in a touchdown.

This was the only touchdown the Eagles put on the board in the contest — and it never should have happened.

Eagles wide receiver Marken Michel ran a deep post route behind Jackson, and the corner’s diving attempt to make a play didn’t work.
When Mike Vrabel met with the media after the game, called Jackson’s mistake “reckless” and implied that aggression could have changed the outcome of the play.

“I think that that’s being reckless, that’s not being aggressive,” Vrabel said in a report from ESPN’s Turron Davenport. “Being aggressive would have been to take his left arm, which we all know is the long arm, the one closest to the ball, and bat it down. But it was great to see him come back, and make some plays and challenge.”

Jackson recorded not a single tackle, sack or interception for the whole game, even though he was kept in action much longer than the other starters — which doesn’t bode well for him.

He’s going to need to clean up his act is he wants to have a secure place with the team moving forward.

Jackson will get his next chance to do just that as the Titans take on the New England Patriots in Nissan Stadium on Aug. 17.
