Titans can still make it into postseason with loss to Texans

The Tennessee Titans (8-7) still control their own destiny and can make it into the playoffs with a win over the Houston Texans (10-5).

But that’s not the only way the Titans can edge their way into the postseason.

They can still get in with a tie and a Pittsburgh Steelers loss or tie, or a Steelers loss and an Indianapolis Colts loss or tie.

The Titans have struggled against the Texans as of late, falling 24-21 to the division rival just a couple of weeks ago in Nissan Stadium.

The Texans plan to play their starters, and though that could change ahead of game day, the Titans must be prepared to face the same strong lineup they went up against this year.

They’ll also look to bounce back from a tough 38-28 loss to the New Orleans Saints, which ultimately didn’t have much bearing on Tennessee’s final playoff picture.

Houston comes off a close 23-20 road win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and has already clinched the top spot in the AFC South.

Division matchups have often proven tough for the Titans, and it will be interesting to see how things shake out when the two teams kick off at 3:25 p.m. CST on Sunday at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
