The Cleveland Browns were a team counted out in previous seasons, but that’s all changed in 2019.
It’s been a long time since this much hype surrounded Cleveland as it opens the year at home against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
The Browns look significantly improved on both sides of the ball, led by quarterback Baker Mayfield, who could finally be the signal-caller the team has spent so many years looking for.
In the first meaningful game of 2019, it will be interesting to see who particularly stands out on the active roster.
Here are three Browns players to keep an eye on.
1. QB Baker Mayfield

There’s no question Mayfield is one of the strongest pieces of this team. The Browns were nicknamed the “quarterback graveyard,” and that doesn’t come without reason.
Mayfield seems to have broken that curse, and the Browns will certainly hope he continues to do that on Sunday.
2. OG Eric Kush

The Browns offensive line saw some struggles in Week 3 of the preseason, practically eliminating the ground game and putting the overall offense at a disadvantage.
Kush continues to prove himself at right guard, and it’s going to take a strong showing from him on Sunday to maintain the starting position. The Browns recently traded for Wyatt Teller, who could easily take his place otherwise.
3. CB T.J. Carrie

Carrie has become an important and versatile member of the Browns defense since the team signed him last offseason.
He may not be atop the depth chart, but he plays a big role as a slot cornerback. Expect Carrie to see some meaningful matchups against some slot receivers this season.
