Titans favored over Buccaneers ahead of Sunday matchup

The Tennessee Titans (3-4) seem to have their offense back in order under new starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

On Sunday, the team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 23-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Nissan Stadium.

Next, they face a Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4) team coming off a bye week looking to get back to the win column after dropping two consecutive games when they travel to Nashville.

The Bucs are not favored to do that, though, with Bet MGM listing the Titans as favorites by a point spread of (-2.5).

Considering how good Tannehill has been for the Titans’ passing offense in what little we’ve seen of him this year, a weak Tampa Bay secondary should allow for the quarterback to connect with several receivers on big plays.

After all, he did get the ball out to eight different targets for positive yardage on offense last week.

On the other side of the ball, the Titans will be tasked with keeping Bucs wide receivers Chris Godwin and Mike Evans at bay.

Godwin currently has the league’s second-most receiving yards for the 2019 season (662), and he and Evans combined for 247 receiving yards in Week 6’s loss to the Carolina Panthers.

It will be interesting top see how they match up against a stout Titans passing defense when the two teams face each other at noon CT on Sunday in Music City.
