Titans are slight favorites in Thursday’s matchup vs. Jaguars

The Tennessee Titans face yet another division opponent in the Jacksonville Jaguars after dropping their home opener, 19-17, to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

Despite the loss, the Titans appeared to be the better team overall. It was poor execution, missed opportunities and playing too much conservative football that caused the Titans to lose.

So, it’s not exactly shocking that the Titans are considered favorites by a point spread of (-1.5) on the road against a Jacksonville team yet to win a game this season.

The Jaguars lost by just a point the the Houston Texans on the road Sunday, falling 13-12. In the previous week, they were defeated 40-26 by the Kansas City Chiefs in Jacksonville.

The Titans currently lead the all-time series with an overall record of 29-20-0. Tennessee won the most recent meeting, 30-9 in Nissan Stadium on a day where running back Derrick Henry recorded a historical 99-yard touchdown.

Tennessee won the three contests before that one as well, with Jacksonville recording its most recent victory on Dec. 24, 2016 on their on their own turf with a score of 38-17.

The Titans and Jaguars are set to kick off at 7:20 p.m. CT on Thursday.
