The Tennessee Titans are one of the biggest spenders during the 2020 NFL offseason based on total value contracts.
According to Spotrac, the Titans rank fifth, coming in at $169 million spent this offseason. Of course, that number is greatly padded by the Ryan Tannehill contract, which was for four years and $118 million.
The next biggest total value contract handed out by Tennessee was to Dennis Kelly, whose three-year deal was worth $21 million.
Of the plethora of one-year deals the Titans have spent money on, Derrick Henry’s franchise tag is the richest, totaling $10.2 million; however, there is still time for him to get a long-term deal.
Free-agent acquisition Vic Beasley is No. 2 among the Titans’ one-year deals, coming in at $9.5 million, but that could go up to as much as $12 million with sack incentives.
Of course, Titans fans are still waiting for the team to add one more long-term, potentially big-money contract in Jadeveon Clowney, who general manager Jon Robinson admitted the team has been talking to.
Clowney would instantly surpass Kelly for No. 2 on the list of players who got a long-term deal. If he were to get one-year pact, Clowney would certainly be making more than both Henry and Beasley.
Clowney was originally seeking $20 million or more annually, but reports have suggested he has come off of that demand. The 27-year-old should still be in line for $15 million or more annually, though.
And, if Tennessee does go on to add Clowney, they could move up the list of the biggest offseason spenders of 2020.
