The Tennessee Titans have now inked their six of their eight 2021 NFL draft pick after agreeing to terms with fourth-round pick, outside linebacker Rashad Weaver.
The Titans announced the news on Thursday. Weaver was taken with the No. 135 overall pick in this year’s draft and is expected to play a reserve role behind Harold Landry and Bud Dupree this coming season.
With Weaver now under contract, the Titans have only their two third-round picks, cornerback Elijah Molden and linebacker Monty Rice, left to sign.
Weaver made headlines shortly after being drafted by the Titans, but for all the wrong reasons.
It was revealed back in early May that Weaver had been charged with one count of simple assault on April 30 for allegedly grabbing a woman by the throat and pushing her to the ground on April 18.
Weaver has since released a statement denying the allegation against him. He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on Oct. 5, two days after Tennessee faces the New York Jets in Week 4.
Weaver has fully participated in Tennessee’s offseason program thus far and will return to the practice field when the Titans begin mandatory minicamp on June 15.
