Titans advance to final round in FOX Sports NFL’s “Best Fan Base” poll

In the midst of NCAA March Madness, the Fox Sports NFL Twitter account started a bracket challenge to identify the “best NFL fan base.”

On Tuesday, the Titans advanced to the last round of the contest after defeating the Buffalo Bills in the Final Four.

The Titans came from behind after trailing the Bills by a large deficit in the beginning. It came as such a surprise, in fact, that some went as far as to accuse prominent Titans fans of buying votes.

After doing a twitter audit….. I can confirm this is true.

The Titan fans/bloggers behind the purchase of 40,000 bots are: @mattneely_, @TitansMan97, @Jamalisms and @SouthTexasTitan.

Looking at the numbers only, the likelihood of the Titans fan base making it this far was not a high one, but that clearly hasn’t affected anything.

If you want to look at the numbers…

—Colts’ official twitter handle has ~250k more followers than @Titans
—Vikings’ handle has ~450k more
—Cowboys’ handle has ~3 MILLION more

It will be interesting to see if Titans fans can pull off the win as voting between them and the Cleveland Browns kicks off at 3 p.m. ET.
