The Tennessee Titans added rookie defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons to the active roster on Saturday ahead of the week’s match against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Titans originally drafted the Mississippi State product at No. 19 overall in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, but question marks surrounded how early he’d be available as he recovered from a February ACL tear.
Simmons is expected to make an immediate impact, and will be a large part of Dean Pees’ defense moving forward.
The team also promoted practice squad outside linebacker Derick Roberson to the 53-man roster.
To make room for Simmons, the Titans released defensive linemen Brent Urban and Matt Dickerson.
The Titans and Chargers are set to kick off at 3:05 p.m. CT on Sunday in Nissan Stadium.
