Titans’ A.J. Brown was on snap count in Week 5, says he’s ‘not there yet’

Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown got off to a great start in Week 5 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars with two catches for 32 yards in the first half, but went quiet in the final two quarters and tallied just one catch for six yards the rest of the way.

However, as we learned after the game from the man himself, Brown was actually on a snap count in his first game back from injury, so he didn’t have a full complement of plays. Brown also admitted he still isn’t 100 percent.

“I didn’t get as many snaps as I wanted, but I was on a snap count and I was just trying to do what they wanted me to do today,” Brown said after the game.

Brown’s longest reception of the day, which went for 22 yards, came on one of the Titans’ touchdown drives. His six-yard reception in the third quarter moved the chains, helping to set up another Tennessee touchdown.

Regardless of his overall numbers, it was huge for the Titans to get Brown back, and it’s even more important that he appears to have come out of this game without any issues.

Now the Titans will hope they can get Julio Jones back and have both of their star receivers on the field for what will be a tough matchup against the Buffalo Bills in Week 6.
