Titans’ A.J. Brown, Julio Jones, Bud Dupree ruled out for Week 4

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel revealed after practice on Friday that wide receivers A.J. Brown (hamstring) and Julio Jones (hamstring), and outside linebacker Bud Dupree (knee) are among six players who have been ruled out for the Week 4 contest against the New York Jets.

Joining those three are punter Brett Kern (groin), cornerback Caleb Farley (shoulder) and defensive lineman Larrell Murchison (elbow). For Farley, this is his third straight missed game.

Both Jones and Brown suffered a hamstring injury during the Week 3 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. While we haven’t gotten any semblance of an update giving a timeline for Jones, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Brown is considered week to week.

Meanwhile, Dupree was active for last Sunday’s game but didn’t play a single snap. He followed that up by not practicing at all for the Titans this week. It isn’t clear if Dupree had a setback or if Tennessee is just managing his reps.

Punter Johnny Townsend will take Kern’s place. Outside linebacker Sharif Finch will likely be elevated from the practice squad with the Titans having just two healthy players at the position on their roster, and wideout Marcus Johnson could be activated from IR before the game to help out at wide receiver.

The Titans and Jets kickoff at noon CT on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
