The person who posed himself as an ex-student gained Kalpana teacher's confidence by claiming that he now worked for the Indian army.

After gaining her confidence, the online fraudster set the trap by inducing Kalpana to pay him Rs.59000 to be able to purchase various items at subsidized rates from the Army canteen.

Kalpana who fell into the trap transferred the money and waited for her order to be dispatched. But as days passed by, there was no response from the anonymous guy and he later switched off his mobile and completely disconnected her.

Realizing that she was duped by an online fraudster, Kalpana approached the cyber wing sleuths at Tirupati.

Without any delay, the Tirupati cyber crime sleuths got the online fraudster's bank account freezed with the help of the bank officials and got Rs.59000 refunded to Kalpana's bank account.

Tirupati police advised the public to be extremely cautious when dealing with anonymous messages and calls.

The district police wing is in the process of embarking on a special campaign to sensitize the people on the emerging trends in cyber crimes to educate and protect the people from falling prey to the online fraudsters and cyber criminals.
