Tired Matthew Perry spotted for first time in 6 months with grey hair and stubble

A dishevelled Matthew Perry has been spotted out in public for the first time in six months while Los Angeles battles the coronavirus outbreak.

The 50-year-old actor was seen wearily making his way down a street in LA after news that the Friends reboot has been postponed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Matthew, who played Chandler Bing in the hit comedy series, looked tired and grey as he ambled down the pavement - a far cry from his groomed and polished snaps on his recently opened Instagram.

Wearing a black V-neck t-shirt with a chequered blue and white shirt worn open over the top, Matthew stifled a yawn as he thrust his hands into the pockets of his casual jogging pants and made his way down the road.

His grey hair stood on end and it seemed he hasn't seen the business end of a razor for quite a few days.

It came after the Hollywood star joked he was doing lots of naked baking while at home in quarantine.

Sharing a snap of his freshly baked oat cookies on Instagram, Matthew captioned it: "I made these by the way. Also I'm not wearing any pants. #gettingreadyforsomeseriousnudeeating."

The actor had also been posting snaps of himself enjoying downtime at home before the lockdown began, including one of him holding up a ukelele with the caption: "Sometimes I like to hold onto things like this and pretend that i am a giant."

On another of him wearing black glasses, he wrote: "I wear these sometimes to give the illusion that i am smart. Also, they help me see."

The star is believed to be isolating separately from his girlfriend Molly Hurwitz, who works as a talent manager.

Instead, he's thought to be in lockdown with sober friends and close team members to lead him away from thoughts of temptation after beating a years-long drink and drug addition.

Matthew has been honest and open about his past demons, which saw him book into rehab twice while Friends was ongoing.

An accident while skiing in the 1990s saw him hooked on prescription medication, for which he got treatment in 1997.

He then returned to his drying-out clinic in 2000 to tackle his booze addiction.

"I was in the white-hot flame of fame. The six of us were just everywhere all the time," he has previously said of his life in the Friends limelight.

"From an outsider's perspective, it would seem like I had it all. It was actually a very lonely time for me because I was suffering from alcoholism.

"It was going on before Friends, but it's a progressive disease. I wasn't a massive party guy. I wasn't a bull-in-a-China-shop kind of drinker."

In 2018, Matthew suffered a ruptured bowel which required emergency surgery, and was then hospitalised for three months.

He sparked concerns in May last year when he tweeted about getting "kicked out of therapy", before reassuring fans it was just for one session.

He appeared to be finding lockdown hard earlier this month when he posted a quote that simply read: "Why is today especially hard???"

Hundreds of fans flocked to his comments section to send supportive messages.

Matthew captioned the post: "Well, ive just been informed that my last post was more of a Twitter thing. I am trying to understand Instagram; i really am. I’ll get better I promise #onlinemoronsandwhich."
