Tirawat Kaewsiribandit was crowned Singha Pattaya Open champion after yesterday's final round was cancelled due to bad weather.
A lengthy suspension of play due to rainfall eliminated the possibility of the final round being completed before darkness yesterday. The play was then called off midway through the final round at the par-70 Burapa Golf & Resort in Chonburi.
That earned Tirawat the victory as he stood at nine-under 201 after 54 holes. It was his second All Thailand Golf Tour title after the first one at the All Thailand Championship last year. Also, it was his second consecutive win after last week's Asian Tour victory in Pakistan.
The Khon Kaen native, 29, took home 450,000 baht at the three-million-baht tournament, the last leg of the 2018 All Thailand Golf Tour. He moved up to finish eighth on the money list.
"The win in Pakistan last week gave me a lot of confidence," said Tirawat, who was carrying a slight back injury.
"My back hurt a bit during the first two rounds but I tried to just concentrate on my game and luckily I managed to pull off this win."
Rattanon Wannasrichan was second on eight-under 202. With the prize money of 277,500 baht, it was enough for him to land the Order of Merit Award. Rattanon earned a total of 1,091,175 baht from seven tournaments.
Chapchai Nirat was third on seven-under 203. He picked up 171,000 baht and stood 10th on the money list with 523,537 baht.
