Tipping point viewers gobsmacked as contestant breezes through 'easy' questions

Fans of day-time quiz show Tipping Point have been left gobsmacked after a string of questions which seemed staggeringly simple.

Show presenter Ben Shephard was in the firing line for a barrage of banter from viewers who were left perplexed during Thursday's airing.

One took to Twitter fuming that the presenter was 'taking the p**s' when he asked contestants, "Where do Australian people come from?"

Fans were stunned after contestant Jo quickly answered: "Australia'.

But the blindingly obvious questions didn't end there.

Ben went on to ask: "The words 'mock' and 'cocktail' are often combined to make which word that is used to describe a non-alcoholic drink?"

Jo again answered 'mocktail' but by this point the audience at home had taken to their phones on social media to vent their frustrations.

Ben, who also presents Good Morning Britain, also asked which fruit lemonade was made from.

The popular ITV1 quiz show, typically features four contestants who answer questions on the subject of general knowledge to win counters.

Once they've won those, they use on a large coin pusher arcade-style machine - but only the winner at the end has a chance to take home any money.

But with such easy questions viewers were left gob-smacked.

One viewer tweeted said: "Australian comes from which country. We've hit an all time low #TippingPoint."

A second said: "Someone described as Australian comes from which country?'

They added: "I know that #TippingPoint isn't exactly Mastermind but that Q takes the p***."

"What kind of dumb question was that #tippingpoint," a third asked.

Another quipped: "Even I knew that! #tippingpoint."

Tipping Point continues to air each and every weekday on ITV1 with episodes also available on the ITV Hub.
