Tipping Point's Ben Shephard still in shock at 'maddest' win ever and contestant's nerves of steel

Ben Shephard is still in shock at one of the 'maddest' wins ever pulled off on Tipping Point.

With the Cheltenham Festival dominating ITV's afternoon schedule this week, programmes like Loose Women and Judge Rinder have been cancelled and Tipping Point, which normally airs at 4pm, had been reduced to a half hour 'greatest hits' show

But, while fans of the quiz show have been left disappointed by not getting their full hour fix every day, there have been some memorable moments from the Tipping Point archives on the Best Ever Finals specials.

And one that still sticks in host Ben's mind is contestant Christina's victory from early last year which went right down to the wire, with her last counter pushing the all important star counter off the ledge to win her £10,000.

Ben shared a clip of the episode in question, which was filmed pre-Covid and saw Christine fling her arms around him as she exclaimed: "Oh my god! I can't believe that just happened," to which Ben replied: "I can't believe it just happened!"

She added: "That's for encouraging me through that," to which he exclaimed: "I can't believe you took that trade! Absolutely bonkers!"

Ben Shephard left in disbelief by contestant Christina's 'maddest' Tipping Point win ever (ITV)

Christina had got several questions wrong on her way to victory so stunned Ben and viewers at home when she traded the £3,300 she had for three final counters.

Referencing the horse racing at Cheltenham, Ben, favourite to replace Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain, captioned the clip: "A trade that would be fitting in the Gold Cup!!! Nerves of steel and a truly memorable moment for Christina - I still can’t believe she won, one of the boldest baddest maddest trades ever, blooming marvellous!!"

Viewers also have fond memories of Christine's win, with one responding to Ben's tweet to say: "She went big and went home with £10k. Awesome!!"

Another replied: "It sure was, amazing how one small drop can brighten the day" and a third reacted: "I just love how enthusiastic Ben gets! Well deserved!"
