Tipping Point's Ben Shephard leaves viewers in stitches with 'mucky' innuendos

Tipping Point host Ben Shephard left viewers of the hit ITV quiz show stunned with his suggestive comments during an episode which aired this week.

The 46-year-old host was in top form during Thursday’s instalment, but as he chatted to the four new contestants, his mind was seemingly somewhere else.

Ben, who also co-hosts Good Morning Britain, referenced a “gaping hole” left by a counter during one of the tense rounds.

Viewers were then convinced the host had then dropped another innuendo as they heard him say there were "hairy gaps" in the machine.

"I beg your pardon, Ben? #tippingpoint," one tweeted, as another joked: "I only turned on #TippingPoint and Ben is speaking about gaping holes!"

"‘Hairy Gaps’? And I thought I might be trying a bit too hard with the filth…" a viewer quipped, while one asked in disbelief: "Going back a few minutes did Ben really say ‘Hairy Gaps’?"

"Ben knows we are here waiting for the innuendos, and now he’s just handing them out," a fan joked.

Others suggested that Ben was in on a bet with the Tipping Point crew to see how many innuendos he can squeeze into a show.

"Is Ben on a promise with the mucky comments he's coming out with today.. .#tippingpoint" as a second said: "I wonder if the crew have a bet before the show on how many innuendos Ben can get in one episode."

The hit ITV daytime quiz show returned on Thursday, as contestants took on the arcade coin-pushing machine to try and win the £10,000 jackpot.

This isn’t the first time that Ben has raised eyebrows with his suggestive remarks during the show.

Last month, the host surprised viewers with yet another racy comment, as contestant Leah tried her luck to scoop a cash prize.

She needed to bag herself some counters as she was in last place, and as the counter rolled through the machine, viewers held their breath as it dropped onto the shelf.

"Could be good," Ben said, but when it failed to push any counters off, he exclaimed: “Oh look at that! Agonisingly close.”

As Leah commented on the counters “dangling” over the edge of the shelf, Ben inadvertently dropped a saucy innuendo.

"That's a well-hung shelf in there now," he quipped, which left viewers in hysterics.
