Tipping Point fans left screaming at TV as contestant's mistake costs him fortune

Tipping Point viewers couldn't look away after a tense moment cost one contestant a whopping jackpot of £10,000.

In tonight's show, Stefano managed to beat fellow contestants Geoff, Jan and Kate to the final round of the ITV show.

In the final minutes of the episode, Stefano was just a few counters away from winning the jackpot when he ran out of questions.

Presenter Ben Shephard then asked Stefano whether he would like to gamble his £3,450 winnings for three more counters.

However, if he went with the gamble he also risked losing his winnings altogether.

When Ben asked him whether he was a risk taker, Stefano explained that he sometimes was.

It was a tough decision, but Stefano decided to take the three grand - that he had pledged toward taking his partner on holiday to Mexico.

"I can see the look on my partner's face now when I go home with zero, so I think I'm going to take the money Ben," he said.

Just before the show ended, ITV bosses had one more trick up their sleeves as they played out the round to see what would have happened.

In a shocking moment, just one counter would have seen Stefano go home with £10,000.

Viewers of the popular competition show couldn't believe Stefano's misfortune.

"Ooohhhh Nooohhhh Stefanooooohhhh," wrote one viewer on Twitter.
