Tipping Point fans fume as contestant takes up air time with 'lengthy commentary'

Tipping Point viewers were left irritated at one contestant for taking up air time on tonight's show.

The gameshow saw host Ben Shephard welcomed another four contestants to the studio - Brian, Sam, Maggie and Gary - who were eager to win the cash jackpot.

According  to fans, Kent native Gary was taking ages to choose his first category of questions after beating his teammates to the final round.

The player was criticised on Twitter for taking an unusual amount of time to pick a category, and provided a seemingly long-winded speech.

Gary explained: "OK, so I think for me, I'm going to have to make it easy from top to bottom.

The contestant sparked outrage as fans wanted him to get on with it (ITV)

"Obviously counters for me is a key thing, so I think I'll start off and just see how I go with threes."

By this time, fans had begged him to give up the commentary and get on with the show.

But Gary continued: "Obviously just try and get as many counters as I can. But depending on how the question goes, I might have to rein it in a little bit.

"So on that basis, I'll start with nature and three please Ben."

During his speech, one Twitter fan wrote: "You're not doing an after match interview on Sky Sports Gary.. #tippingpoint "

Another penned: "F***ing hell, took 5 mins to pick his first category #tippingpoint "

While a third added: "Did we need all that commentary first just pick the category #TippingPoint "

After a few guesses and categories later, the financial advisor ended up taking £3,250 from the show, but didn't get to win the epic jackpot.
