Tipping Point contestant admits she 'doesn't know any Scottish cities' - not even Edinburgh

A TV contestant has left viewers across the country in complete disbelief for all the wrong reasons.

The Tipping Point contestant Bethany was left totally stumped on the quiz show on Monday - but wait until you hear the question.

Host Ben Shephard had asked contestants in which Scottish city you would find the University of Strathclyde.

While she may have been forgiven for not knowing the answer to this particular question, her excuse has baffled people.

Rather than passing, Bethany made up a place named "Stratham" before adding admitting that she "didn't know any Scottish cities" - not even the capital.

Ben told Bethany she could "think of as many Scottish cities you like before you give me the one that you want to be your answer."

But rather than pass on the question Bethany replied: "I don't actually know any", before completely making up a place in Scotland.

She added: "Um...Stratham? Is that even a place? I'm just going to go for it. That is what it is."

Sadly for Bethany, the University of Strathclyde caught wind of her blunder and shared the clip on Twitter.

Having already racked up over ten thousand likes, they thanked the show for "the laughs".

"She is thinking outside of the box", one said.

Another added: "Oh dear."
