Tipping Point and The Chase cancelled by ITV to make way for Biden leaving viewers in 'disbelief'

ITV viewers were left seething on Wednesday afternoon when both Tipping Point and The Chase were pulled.

And the fact that both quiz shows were forced off air to make way for Joe Biden's inauguration as US President wasn't justification enough in the eyes of fans who tuned in expecting to get their daily fix of Ben Shephard and Bradley Walsh.

After kicking off coverage of Biden's succession to Trump on the lunchtime news, ITV dedicated nearly three hours of programming to the 78-year-old's big moment alongside wife Jill and vice president Kamala Harris.

But that was three hours too long for some avid Tipping Point and The Chase viewers.

After tuning in at 4pm to see host Ben introduce a new host of contestants but instead being greeted by live scenes from the White House, one tweeted: "I don’t ask for much but when I get home from work I like to put my feet up and watch tipping point & the chase. Where is it?"

A second reacted: "I hardly think this charade is more important than Tipping Point FFS" and a third ranted: "Can’t believe they’ve sacked Tipping Point AND The Chase off for some s**t inauguration. Outrageous @ITV sort your priorities out.

Another fumed: "No Tipping point or The Chase today because of something that’s nothing to do with our country."

Taking a much more light hearted approach, another Twitter user "Joe Biden's #NotMyPresident so why should we be denied the joy of if the Double Counter pays off lol."

Biden's inauguration had a star studded lineup, with music megastar Lady Gaga chosen to perform the National Anthem for the occasion and stars like Foo Fighters and Bruce Springsteen also down to appear.
