Tipperary woman overjoyed after stolen dog found safe after almost a year missing

A Tipperary woman is overjoyed after her stolen dog was returned to her almost a year later.

Emma Carroll's beloved female pup Tiny was robbed from outside her house in Emly, South Tipperary on August 25 last year.

A black Volkswagen Passat with tinted windows pulled up beside the front lawn and a person inside snatched Tiny and drove off.

Determined Emma set up a Facebook page in the hopes of finding her pooch but as time passed, hope began to fade.

Happily, Tiny, who was micro-chipped, was yesterday finally reunited with her loving owner after a member of the public supplied "important information".

Taking to the Facebook page Bring Tiny Home, Emma wrote: "Words fail us at this time. It’s been 11 months of torture.

"But we had a breakthrough, thanks to a wonderful member of the public, who gave us important information and a solid lead to our girl's whereabouts.

"We were reunited with Tiny this morning and she is now home safe and sound.

"Thank you to the wonderful person who contacted us, they know who they are.

"Without their help our girl would still be missing. Thank you to the ISPCA and the Garda, who successfully reclaimed her.

"Thank you to the wonderful Sinead at Cloyne Vets who downed tools and gave Tiny a full check over and treatment.

"Finally, a huge thank you to all of you, who kept sharing this page and Tiny’s plight.

"Never ever lose hope, sometimes it’s all you have to cling to but it’s worth clinging to! And please microchip and register. It’s the most important proof of ownership you can bestow on your pet."

Cloyne Veterinary Clinic also shared an update, saying: "Today, we had the honour of meeting Tiny after he was reunited with his owner after almost 12 months. TWELVE MONTHS. Can you imagine?

"Through the tireless work of many people Tiny’s whereabouts were found.

"All of this work would have been futile if Tiny had not been micro-chipped and registered, as proof of ownership would have been impossible.

"We cannot stress enough how important it is to microchip and register your pet.

"We are overjoyed that Tiny has been reunited with his amazing owner, who never gave up."
