Tipperary's Jerome Cahill has been named the 2019 Bord Gáis Energy Under-20 Hurler of the Year.
It comes after Cahill starred in Tipp’s win over Cork in last month’s All-Ireland final, contributing 1-1 to their mammoth tally of 5-17, as well as slotting 2-1 in the runaway semi-final win over Wexford.
It was the second All-Ireland victory for the Kilruane MacDonaghs man within a week as he was also part of Liam Sheedy’s senior panel that saw off Kilkenny six days earlier.
Kerry’s Michael Slattery won the equivalent prize for the Richie McElligott Cup, which is awarded to the All-Ireland under-20 hurling ‘B’ winners.
