Tipperary's Evan Comerford hilariously reacts after mother confuses him with Dublin namesake

Tipperary keeper Evan Comerford had a hilarious response for his mother's Facebook comment after she apparently confused her son with his namesake.

Anna Comerford replied to a video of Dublin keeper Evan Comerford's stunning stop against Donegal, with the comment: "Well done Evan some save."

But it was the Ballymun Kickhams man and not her own son, Tipp star Evan, who was between the sticks for the Dubs at Croke Park on Saturday night.

Comerford took the opportunity to share a joke with his mother by screenshotting the comment and posting it on Twitter.

He wroted: "Thanks Ma. Pity you have the wrong Evan though #hasntaclue #mothersofffacebook."

Comerford's tweet went viral, with 3,000 likes and 88 retweets to date.

The Dublin Comerford played a starring role on Saturday night as Dessie Farrell's side edged out Donegal by a point.

Paul Mannion notched a late goal to down Donegal and maintain Dublin’s unbeaten start to the league season.

Donegal goalkeeper Shaun Patton dropped a high ball from Brian Howard in the 66th minute and Mannion opportunistically palmed the ball to the net.
