Tipperary driver with no insurance arrested by gardai on suspicion of drug-driving

A Tipperary driver was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after they tested positive for cocaine.

Gardai revealed they nabbed the motorist, who also had no insurance, in Cahir, Co Tipperary on Saturday.

A tweet on the Garda Traffic Twitter account read: "Cahir Gardaí stopped this car yesterday. Driver arrested on suspicion of drug-driving, also driver had no insurance. Car seized and proceedings to follow."

They shared a photo of a test result showing a positive reading for cocaine.

Meanwhile, in Dublin another driver was stopped for driving in a bus lane.

When gardai pulled them over, they found the car had a heavily worn front tyre and the driver had no tax.

A spokesperson said: "Gardaí from Kevin St stopped this car driving in a bus lane, as you can see from the photo, driver had a dangerously worn front tyre. Also driver had no tax. Proceedings to follow."
