Tipperary stages a seven-race card today and Noel Meade’s Daly Tiger, tried in Grade 1 company when last seen at Leopardstown last Christmas, should justify odds-on favouritism, on his fencing bow, in the www.Tipperaryraces.ie Beginners Chase.
Winner of a maiden hurdle in Punchestown, Sean Flanagan’s mount found himself out of his depth in the Grade 1 won by Aramon but looks a cut above today’s opposition and a clear round should see him collect.
Janidil, trained for JP McManus by Willie Mullins, was outpointed by Notebook on his Irish debut at Tramore on New Year’s Day.
The handicapper gave him a mark of 125 on the back of that effort.
And, if that assessment is even close to being accurate, the French-bred five-year-old should open his account in the opening Join Tipperary Supporters Club Maiden Hurdle.
