Tiny Pretty Things' explicit sex scenes have been labelled 'softcore porn' by some Netflix viewers.
The teen drama is based on the novel by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayto and follows a group of talented young adults, including lead character Neveah Stroyer (Kylie Jefferson), at an elite ballet academy named the Archer School of Ballet.
The academy is all to prep future talent for the professional company City Works Ballet, but of course the diverse group of students have very passionate feelings that spark rivalries, friendships, and romances - the last of which leads to some steamy scenes.
The flurry of explicit scenes has prompted quite the response from viewers on social media.

One person commented on the characters' sex scenes on Twitter : "why are there so many sex scenes in tiny pretty things ..... like arent they 16 this s**t is worse than riverdale LDMXNXNSNS"
A different viewer wrote: "about tiny pretty things i hope the producers are seeing the bad reactions about so many sex scenes, sometimes we truly just want a crime series with ballet".
Meanwhile, another Netflix subscriber noted: "tiny pretty things added so many a** shots and sex scenes to compensate for the lack of a consistent good plot".

Elsewhere, one person criticised the show and its sex scenes for teenage characters, noting: "Tiny Pretty Things by @Netflix had so much potential for a story about a Black woman striving to succeed in a white, privileged sport. But instead it's just a show about sex. Why is Netflix so obsessed with sexualizing minors and pushing student-teacher affairs."
However, one viewer was a fan of the show despite the plentiful sex scenes, tweeting: "besides the unnecessary sex scenes, tiny pretty things is looking good so far".

A different person commented on Twitter: "Watching Tiny Pretty Things on Netflix as a study break and some of the scenes make me uncomfortable as a twenty-something year old. Why are there explicit sex scenes of the main characters? Aren’t they supposed to be teenagers? Am I the only one that thinks this?"
Finally, one viewer concluded: "Maybe it’s me, but there is no need for Tiny Pretty Things to literally be soft core porn. There is no need for these actors/actresses to be naked all the time or for all the explicit sex sevens, especially while portraying teenagers".
Tiny Pretty Things is available now to watch on Netflix.
