- A Kirk's dik-dik fawn, named Dotty, has been born at Chester Zoo, one of the UK's largest zoos.
- Dotty is one of the world's tiniest antelopes, currently barely taller than a tin of beans and expected to reach only 40cm when fully grown.
- The fawn is being raised with the help of a surrogate father after her biological father died of old age shortly before her birth.
- A new male dik-dik named Dan, who arrived from a zoo in Cumbria in February, has stepped into the paternal role alongside Dotty's mother, Chrissy.
- Chester Zoo is home to 30,000 animals from more than 500 species.
