Tiny Edinburgh Meadows flat with bed opposite oven is eye-watering £1,300-a-month rent

A pocket-sized property with the bed opposite the oven has become available to rent near the Meadows in Edinburgh - and comes in at an eye-watering £1300 per month.

The smaller-than-average studio features a double bed, sofa and kitchen all crammed into one wee room - with a shower and loo off to the side.

Don't worry if you don't think there's enough room for a couple, because the listing assures that you can in fact fit THREE people in the studio as there's a camp bed available.

Photos of the flat show off the combined kitchen, bedroom and living space as well as a small patio of artificial grass at the front (is that where you put the camp bed?).

The listing, which offers a short-term let, boasts free WiFi and Netflix - but the TV doesn't face the sofa or bed, so you could always sit on the kitchen counter to watch the latest boxset.

Sky high rent prices in Edinburgh are nothing new, but you would need to shell out £300 a week - or £1,300 a month - to live in this particular flat.

The listing reads: "Right beside The Meadows, Summerhall and The Commonwealth Pool, this property is located perfectly for a visit to Edinburgh or short stay if you're moving home.

"It is located right beside some of Edinburgh's most wonderful bars and restaurants as well as being only a 15 min walk to Waverley Station and Edinburgh's East End of Princes Street.

"With classic features such as high ceilings and cornicing, the property gives a modern twist on this with opulent lighting and sleek, modern kitchen and bathroom.

"The property is newly renovated and all updates are high-end and design features in their own right.

"With a double bed and an additional camp bed, there is space for three in this wonderful location close to Arthur's Seat, the hospital and King's Buildings along with other Edinburgh University Facilities."
