Tiny city centre flat being rented for £1,300 a month hides strange kitchen feature

A unusual flat has appeared on the rental market in New York, but one stand out feature has caught people's attention.

Along with the studio apartment's separate bedroom area, it comes with a unique feature in the kitchen.

In between the sink and fridge, a bath is nestled, complete with an overhead shower and rail so you can hang a shower curtain.

It seems even the estate agent is aware of how odd the situation is, saying the place is a steal at just £1,300 a month, adding: "All you gotta do to call this home is deal with the bathtub situation".

Photos of the listing show the space with large windows and wooden floors, as well as a stand alone cooker on one wall.

The white bath, almost blends into the wall, and only on closer inspection can you spot the large fridge freezer to the right.

The particulars read: "Luxuries or weird?

"Kitchen or bathroom vibes? You decide!

“This is an old school loft apartment in Williamsburg

"Weird but good priced if you don’t care (or do care and wanna be a weirdo).”

It added: “This price for a spacious apartment is rare for the area!"

The listing has been widely shared on social media, with many questioning the decision to put the bath there in the first palce.

While others said it was quite common in New York, with older rental properties having the bathroom added to the kitchen.

The studio apartment is in Walton Street, off Union Avenue and Broadway and within metres of a subway station.

There are much smaller apartments with shared communal bathrooms asking for between £900 and £1,200 on the same listings website.

Although unusual, the apartment rented quickly, according to the agent.

He told the New York Post that after just 14 days on the market, it was snatched up, and a new tenant is moving in soon.
