Faustino Asprilla believes that Rafa Benitez has worked miracles with Newcastle United this season.
The Colombian legend has thrown his weight behind the Rafa Must Stay campaign and feels the former Liverpool boss is the ONLY man for the job at St James’ Park.
After guiding United to safety with three games to spare, Asprilla told the Chronicle: “ Rafa Benitez has proved that he is only man for the job at my old club.
“On a limited budget he has performed miracles and kept the club in the Premier League. He has made some great signings this season with Fernandez, Schar and Almiron all impressing me.”
Benitez is waiting for the green light on some of the requests he put forward in April.
Asprilla said: “Hopefully the club will offer him a new contract and reward his survival success with a healthy transfer budget this summer.”
