Chelsea youngster Tino Anjorin has said it was a 'big moment' to follow in the footsteps of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Andreas Christensen by making his first team debut.
The 17-year-old has risen through the ranks at the Blues academy and came on in the second half against Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup last week.
The attacking midfielder had a great chance to get himself a senior goal, rounding goalkeeper James McKeown, however being unable to finish from a tight angle.
But it was a promising debut from the England youth international, sharing a debut with Reece James and Ian Maatsen, with the latter also coming on in the second half.
And Anjorin was proud to take his first step into senior football.
"It was a big moment for me and my family, coming up through the ranks looking up to players making their debuts such as Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Andreas Christensen. It was a big day," Anjorin told the Chelsea website .
Anjorin has been a big part of a decent start to the youth team's season, scoring twice from the penalty spot in the UEFA Youth League opener two weeks' ago.
The U19s play Lille in their second game of the competition on Wednesday afternoon and Anjorin is keen to get three points this time around.
"Valencia came to us a few weeks ago and they gave us a good game drawing 3-3, I think we should've won that one," he added.
"Lille will be a different test but we will prepare for them over the next few days before going there."
