Tinder users can now select up to three sexual orientations - here's how

In the hopes of empowering its users, Tinder has launched a new feature today, dubbed Orientation.

Orientation will let users select up to three sexual orientations for themselves, and prioritise potential matches based on their preferences.

The update comes in response to user feedback, which revealed that increased normalisation of different sexual orientations makes it easier for members of the LGBTQ+ community to be open and honest about their dating lives.

Elie Sediman, CEO of Tinder, said: “We want all of our users to feel empowered expressing who they are while connecting with new people - and we’re always working to make that easier for our users on Tinder.”

To add more information about sexual orientation on Tinder, visit Edit Info within the app.

After tapping “Orientation,” you’ll be able to select up to three terms that you feel best describe your sexual orientation.

From there, you can also select whether or not to display your sexual orientation on your profile.

The update also allows you to prioritise potential matches based on their sexual preferences, via the Discovery Preferences section of the app.

Orientation on Tinder will roll out to iOS and Android users in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, India, Australia and New Zealand throughout June 2019.
