Tinder down: Hundreds of singletons complain as dating app stops working

Dating app Tinder has crashed - leaving hundreds of singletons unable to find their match.

More than 800 people have reported problems with the service in the last hour, according to a tracking website.

More than half - 57 per cent - have complained of server problems, while more than a quarter (27 per cent) are struggling to message.

The outages are reported to be in both the UK and the US.

Crash site DownDetector said: "User reports indicate possible problems at Tinder."

Frustrated people have taken to social media to complain about problems with the app.

One person said: "Why is tinder down i’m trying to find the love of my life."

Another said: "I heard from an anonymous source that tinder is down... good thing I dont have an account."

Tinder is the most popular dating app in the world, with millions of users.

It is used in 190 countries and more than 40 languages.

The Mirror has approached Tinder for comment.

Tinder launched 'Face to Face' video chats in Britain in October last year, which allowed users stuck in lockdown to go on virtual dates.

The feature is only available when both parties opt-in to stop unwanted attention.

It is designed to be used to compliment and boost conversation once a spark has been established.

The company says it received positive feedback from users and as such decided to roll the feature out worldwide.

In other technology news today, the leaked details of 11million British Facebook users have been found on a hacking website.
