- BBC Radio 2 newsreader Tina Daheley has announced she is stepping away from the Breakfast Show after more than seven years.
- Daheley, 45, began reading news for the programme in 2019 when Zoe Ball took over as host and continued with Scott Mills.
- She stated she is looking forward to a lie-in after 18 years of working on various breakfast shows across the BBC.
- Daheley clarified she is not leaving BBC Radio 2 entirely and will cover Jeremy Vine's show, as well as appearing on BBC One later this year.
- Her exit comes ahead of Sara Cox's debut as the new host on 6 July, replacing Scott Mills, who was recently fired.
