This morning, his verified badge on Twitch was removed, finalising the move away from the platform that attracts tens of millions of viewers a year.

In an exclusive interview with Business Insider, Tim said: “The reality is, now that I’ve got my wife and my son, it’s hard for me to stream as much as I did beforehand.

“I’d say seven to eight out of 10 people coming up to me go, ‘Man, I love your YouTube,'” he said. “I have more followers on Twitch but a lot of people day-to-day call me a YouTuber.”

The announcement comes as DrLupo, another popular streamer, recently left Twitch for YouTube gaming, joining other popular names such as DrDisrespect, CouRage, and Valkyrae.

Tim's Twitch channel has over seven million followers and generates an average of 34,634 viewers with a total of 60 million hours watched, according to Twitch stat trackers.

Meanwhile, his main YouTube channel has nearly four million subscribers.

He is among the top 20 most-watched streamers on Twitch over the past year which has made him one of the most high-profile streamers to leave the platform.
