Timothy Fosu-Mensah posts cryptic tweet surrounding Manchester United future

Manchester United academy product Timothy Fosu-Mensah has posted a cryptic message on Twitter with doubt surrounding his future.

Fosu-Mensah joined United as a youngster from Ajax in 2014 and after impressing in the youth teams he would go onto make his first-team debut 18 months later in a 3-2 win over Arsenal in 2016.

The Dutchman made a further 20 appearances for United, with both Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho finding his versatility useful, as he can play across the defence and in midfield.

However, after two loan spells - first at Crystal Palace and then to relegated Fulham last year - his United career is at a cross-roads.

Fosu-Mensah's most natural position is at right-back, where United have just spent £50million on Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and they have plenty of options elsewhere on the field.

He is also currently rehabilitating from a cruciate ligament injury, which may prevent him from training with the rest of the team this pre-season.

Fosu-Mensah tweeted in Dutch which translates to: "Everything on its time, everyone has their own path."

With just a year remaining on his current contract, though there is an option for a further year, this coming season is set to be a massive one in his career.

But even though it feels like he has been around for ages, Fosu-Mensah is still only 21 and has plenty of time to fulfill his potential at United.
