With the 2019/20 season fast approaching, Liverpool have made one signing this summer so far, with 17-year-old defender Sepp van den Berg joining from PEC Swolle.
The Reds first choice eleven is full of world class talent, particularly in attack, with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah forming one of the best forward lines in world football.
One of the names repeatedly linked with Liverpool this summer - and even in previous transfer windows - is that of RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.
He is out of contract next year and speculation suggests a move could still be on the cards over the next couple of weeks, with Bayern Munich still being persistently linked with a swoop.
If the Reds were to make a (highly unlikely!) move, how many goals would Werner score for Liverpool? And would he get regular game time?
We used Football Manager 2019 to have a bit of fun and see what would happen if Liverpool signed Werner this summer.
Timo Werner - Liverpool

Current Ability: 151/200
Potential Ability: 165/200
Positions: ST/AML/AMR
Top Attributes (out of 20): Acceleration (18), pace (18), balance (17), stamina (16), movement (16), work rate (16), aggression (16).

The 23-year-old is one of Germany's most promising young attackers, according to Football Manager 2019.
The young striker is incredibly fast, with very good acceleration and pace, with allows him to get away from opposition defenders.
But how much difference will he make to Liverpool's performance in the 2019/20 season?
Here's what happened....
Liverpool's top scorers in 2019/20

Timo Werner's 2019/20 season for Liverpool

Werner actually played more games than you may have thought, due to an injury to Mohamed Salah midway through the season.
But, despite starting 31 games, Werner scored an impressive 15 goals, which was more than Mane managed in 52 appearances.
His league record of 11 goals in 22 starts is very good indeed, which shows the German's goalscoring prowess.
However, he only supplied two assists in the whole season, which highlights the deficiencies within his game.
Liverpool's best XI in 2019/20

Despite Werner's strong season, he wasn't named in the Liverpool best XI, with Firmino outperforming him overall.
All in all, it's a familiar looking lineup.
We've seen all the stats, but what about the results?
Liverpool's 2018/19 league position: 2nd
Liverpool's 2019/20 league position: 2nd

Liverpool's league finish didn't improve with Werner's arrival, with Salah's injury hitting them hard, costing them a lot of points around December.
Champions League performance in 2019/20

Werner didn't have a great imapct in the Champions League either, as the Reds lost in the quarter-final to Barcelona, with Werner missing a penalty at Camp Nou. They went on to lose the second-leg 0-1.
However, Werner did help bring silverware, as he started the FA Cup final win over Arsenal, as Liverpool won 1-0 despite Virgil van Dijk's dismissal.

Football Manager 2019 suggests that Werner would be a great backup signing to supplement Liverpool's current attacking options, and would give them something different to what they have currently.
