Frank Lampard has confirmed that Pedro has played his final Premier League game for Chelsea.
Speculation around the Spanish forward's future began earlier in the year when he was linked with a move to Serie A side AS Roma when his contract expires at the end of the season.
It was understood that the 32-year-old was close to agreeing a two-year contract with Roma after initial discussions took place in April, but sporting director Gianluca Petrachi sudden departure last month seemed to have placed a move in doubt.
However, that's not the case.
Amid talk of a switch to Italy after Chelsea's final game of the 2019/20 season, Lampard has finally broken his silence on Pedro's future after bringing him off the bench in the 2-0 win over Wolves.
"Pedro has played his last game for the club," Lampard confirmed during his post-match press conference. "The lads have just pretty much serenaded him in the changing room and rightly so because of the career he has had generally and for this club.
"It was his last Premier League game, but the impact he has had here is huge. I want to say a big thanks to Peds and wish him well as he goes forward.
"He is here for the remainder of games, but a big player of the club leaves and the spirit of the club I saw afterwards was pretty special."
Pedro's imminent exit is great news for new signing Timo Werner.
The Blues activated the Germany striker's £47.5m release clause at RB Leipzig before it expired on June 15, and confirmed the deal - their second summer signing after Hakim Ziyech - last month.
Now that all the formalities have been completed, Werner needs to be allocated a shirt number.
The German wore no.11 at RB Leipzig and that squad number will now become available at Chelsea now that Pedro's exit has been confirmed.
Speaking of Werner, he arrived in London ahead of the Blues' clash with Wolves and was in attendance at Stamford Bridge as his new teammates secured a place in next season's Champions League.
He is due to train at Cobham in the coming weeks, although he will play no part in next weekend's FA Cup final against Arsenal or the Champions League round of 16 second leg clash away at Bayern Munich.
