Timo Werner's Salah-esque goal has Liverpool fans convinced he's 'ready-made' for Anfield

Liverpool transfer target Timo Werner again made the headlines with another fine goal as RB Leipzig brushed aside FC Cologne in a highly-entertaining Bundesliga affair on Monday night.

The German striker has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield over recent months, with manager Julian Nagelsmann admitting there is nothing he can do to stand in Werner's way should he decide to leave.

Werner is said to have a release clause worth £52million in his current contract, and despite reports stating Liverpool would be unwilling to match that fee due to the financial impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, Werner continues to be linked with the Premier League champions-elect.

And with Liverpool fans presented with another opportunity to see the man in action, Werner certainly didn't disappoint during a 4-2 win for Leipzig away at Cologne.

With the visitors leading 2-1 10 minutes into the second half, former Liverpool goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi launched a counter-attack with a swift boot down the field.

The blistering Werner - coming from inside his own half - then subsequently raced away before smartly finishing into the bottom corner.

A great goal - and one Liverpool fans were quick to point out they have seen before.

In January, Mohamed Salah wrapped up a 2-0 Premier League win over Manchester United at Anfield, racing down on goal in second-half stoppage time after a long ball from goalkeeper Alisson Becker, showing strength and poise to finish past David de Gea.

With the similarities between the goals abundantly clear, some fans couldn't contain their excitement.

One supporter said: "Another goal for Timo Werner tonight! Absolutely ready-made to play for Liverpool."

Another wrote: "Alisson licking his lips while watching that Timo Werner goal."
