Timo Werner might have had a difficult night in front of goal against Leeds United, but the German refused to let that get him down.
Chelsea's summer signing from RB Leipzig was involved in a bizarre moment while the Blues were 1-0 down at Stamford Bridge, as he somehow diverted an effort that was seemingly bound for goal up and onto the crossbar from point blank range.
It was the type of miss that some players would take years to get over, but to the German's credit he kept plugging away and was denied on more occasions by Leeds' impressive young goalkeeper Illan Meslier.
In the event, the miss wasn't too damaging as Chelsea went on to win 3-1 and go to the top of the Premier League ahead of Tottenham and Liverpool's games on Sunday.
Former Blues forward Patrick Bamford had given the visitors the lead when he rounded Edouard Mendy to stun the returning home fans, before Olivier Giroud slid home an equaliser and then Kurt Zouma headed Chelsea ahead in the second half.
Then Werner finally got to make his mark in the closing stages of the game as he raced clear for Christian Pulisic to secure victory for the hosts.
Werner's movement and energy levels late in the game didn't go unnoticed by the former Chelsea and Leeds goalkeeper Rob Green, who covered the match as a pundit for Sky Sports.
Touching on Werner running right in front of Frank Lampard before teeing up the goal, he said: "You've got to give credit to Timo Werner.
"He struggled in front of goal tonight. We laughed at half-time with the opportunities he had.
"We criticised Manchester United (at West Ham ) with the willingness to run-in behind.
"He ran in front of Frank Lampard in the dugout in the 93rd minute against a team that are the fittest team in the league, showed composure at the end of it to put that perfectly weighted cross in."
