Timo Werner reacts to Chelsea debut goal and makes promise to Blues fans for the future

Timo Werner got off to the perfect start for Chelsea in their 1-1 pre-season friendly draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 24-year-old took just four minutes to get his campaign under way with his opening goal for the Blues.

Hakim Ziyech put in a superb ball over the top of the Seagulls defence for Callum Hudson-Odoi, who messed up his header.

However, the ball fell kindly to Werner and he tapped home to get his goalscoring with the club going.

The Germany international put in an excellent display before he was taken off after around 60 minutes.

And Werner is hoping to get many more strikes for the Blues.

It wasn't the perfect game for the Blues, with Hakim Ziyech going off injured in the second half and the Blues conceding late in the game.

But for Werner, it was an impressive start to life with the west London club.
