With Chelsea's transfer ban having been lifted, it means that Frank Lampard and the Blues can spend their money if they want.
Lampard has stated plenty of times that he is willing to bring players in, but only if they have the right qualities.
Chelsea have gone under a new direction this season, giving the young players a chance to excel and Lampard trusting them to execute.
But there is no doubt that new players would come in if needed. But who could they be?
football.london takes a look at some perfect choices and some who could be a cheaper option for the Blues.
Centre-forward
Timo Werner
Timo Werner has become one of the hottest prospects in European football, and with the current Bundesliga season it is easy to see why.
The 23-year-old has already netted 18 league goals and six assists, with another three goals in the Champions League so far.
Werner's qualities as a striker would certainly be what Lampard would be looking for and he has the goalscoring ability to push Tammy Abraham in the forward position.
A cheaper alternative - Luka Jovic
Last season, Luka Jovic was the striker everyone was talking about after an impressive season for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga and Europa League.
It was Real Madrid who snapped him up, but this season has been a disappointing one for him so far, with Karim Benzema remaining the number one striker in Spain.
Madrid could well loan him out this month, which would give the Blues time to really go for someone in the summer as well.
Left-back
David Alaba
It would be a massively ambitious bid for the Blues to go after David Alaba, however that doesn't mean that they haven't been linked with him already.
The 27-year-old remains a regular for Bayern Munich, and with Chelsea also playing the Germans in the last 16 of the Champions League next month the Bundesliga champions probably wouldn't be keen on selling.
But he has become one of the best left-backs in Europe during his time in Germany and would be some coup for the Blues.
A cheaper alternative - Robin Gosens
The little-known defender has been part of an Atalanta team that has really impressed over the past couple of seasons, and according to reports Chelsea have been keeping an eye on him.
The 25-year-old wouldn't cost as much as a high-profile left-back and that could mean Chelsea get him cheaper, but with an impressive season so far.
With five goals and four assists so far, Gosens is having a decent campaign in Serie A.

Centre-back
Kalidou Koulibaly
The Blues have struggled defensively this season and have struggled to keep clean sheets throughout the campaign.
The 28-year-old has been ranked as one of the best centre-backs in Europe for his performances for Napoli, and the sort of player who could help out the Blues.
However, it would come at a big cost with £70million being touted as a potential price for the Senegal international.
A cheaper alternative - Nathan Ake
If the Blues want a quicker deal, then going for Ake would be the answer with a buy-back clause having been inserted when the Blues sold him to Bournemouth.
Ake has proved to be a solid defender for the Cherries, while having a left foot also allows cover in the left-back position if needed and also another option for three at the back.
The only issue for January is that the Dutch international is currently injured, meaning that it would be a risk to
Winger
Jadon Sancho
The Borussia Dortmund winger is reportedly unhappy with life in Germany and would be open to a return to England and look to become a Premier League player.
The 19-year-old is having a decent Bundesliga campaign with nine goals and nine assists to his name already, but getting him in January would be tough.
If the Blues wanted to make it happen then they would have to pay big money or delay the deal until the summer, like they did with Christian Pulisic.
A cheaper alternative - Javairo Dilrosun
At just 21 years of age, Javairo Dilrosun would certainly be a risky choice, but a cheaper option for the Blues should they want.
Dilrosun is having a decent time with Hertha Berlin, with three Bundesliga goals and two assists to his name so far this season.
However, with such a crucial position, it is likely that the Blues would try to spend big money on the role.
