Timo Werner has delivered his verdict on his decision to join Chelsea.
The Germany international was not short of options after scoring 36 goals and assisting 13 across all competitions in his final season at RB Leipzig.
But it was Chelsea who were able to get the deal done, agreeing a £47.7million transfer well ahead of the summer to stave off interest from the likes of Liverpool.
Werner went on to score 12 goals and provide 15 assists in his first season with the Blues, but he came under intense criticism amid a slew of missed chances during his debut campaign.
But after the arrival of fellow countryman Thomas Tuchel in January, the former Borussia Dortmund taking over from Frank Lampard, the 25-year-old has improved in performance and confidence.
And Werner helped Chelsea win only their second ever Champions League title, starting in the final as the Blues defeated Manchester City in Porto.
With that in mind, it's no surprise he doesn't have an ounce of regret over deciding to make the move to Stamford Bridge, even if he has been forced to doubt it at some points along his journey in a Blues shirt so far.
He told BILD: "I have often asked myself: was it right, was it wrong?
"Now I can say that it was the right step and the best decision."
That's just as well with Werner under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2025 having penned a long-term deal upon his signing for Chelsea.
Though, he will be looking to improve significantly heading into his second season in the Premier League, aiming for those figures he managed in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, where he contributed significantly more in terms of goals and assists.
