Timo Weah to discover Celtic Scottish Cup Final fate as America name U20 squad

Timo Weah will find out on Friday whether he will miss the Scottish Cup Final when USA Under 20s boss Tab Ramos announces his squad for the World Cup.

The on loan PSG star started in Celtic 's 3-0 romp at Aberdeen to clinch their eighth title in a row and has now made 17 appearances for the Hoops in all competitions.

Weah won two titles within a week because he also qualified for a Ligue 1 winners medal after playing for PSG at the start of the season.

He would have expected to be a part of Neil Lennon's Scottish Cup Final squad against Hearts at Hampden later this month.

But he will discover on Friday whether he has been called up for the USA squad for the Under 20s World Cup squad in Poland this summer.

If selected by Ramos, he would miss the Final because USA’s opening group match is against Ukraine the previous day.

USA bosses could yet decide to leave Weah out of the World Cup squad and include him in their full squad for the Gold Cup tournament, which starts on June 15, instead.

Last month, Weah admitted he's been put in a dilemma by the tournament.

He said: "I would love to play in the Scottish Cup final for Celtic, but it’s a World Cup as well for the national team which is also a big deal.

It’s up to the club and the national team to discuss which one is better for me.

"Hopefully, whatever happens, the guys will go to Hampden and pull off the victory. It would be good to be a part of it but we’ll wait and see what happens."
