BHUBANESWAR: Timings of 47 trains have been changed at different originating stations with effect from Saturday as the new timetable of Indian Railways will be implemented from October 1. Three pairs of trains, which were introduced recently, have been included in the new timetable, said the East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources.
The official sources said changes in the timings of the trains, extension of trains, provision of experimental stoppages, restoration of trains and introduction of new train services have been included in the timetable. Timings of many trains have also been changed at different stations for time adjustment in view of smooth running of trains.
Earlier, Puri-Ahmedabad Express was originating from Puri at 7.20pm, but now it will start from Puri at 7.25pm. Similarly, the Puri-Surat Express will leave Puri at 8pm instead of 7.45pm. Puri-Sambalpur Intercity express will arrive at Sambalpur at 10.30pm instead of 10.20pm. Bhubaneswar-Jagadalpur Express will reach Jagadalpur at 11pm instead of the existing time of 11.55pm.
According to ECoR, timings of 25 trains have been speeded up by minimum of five minutes and maximum by 55 minutes from originating stations to destination stations. Three pairs of trains have been extended temporarily on an experimental basis.
Three trains Puri-Nuagaon Road-Puri Passenger Special, Howrah-Kantabanji-Howrah Express and Jasidih-Bengaluru-Jasidih Express have been introduced recently. Arrival and departure timings of several trains have been changed too.
