Times paywall's teething troubles

UPDATE 11.05am: I suppose there were bound to be teething troubles with The Times's new paywall. As I say in the posting below, I got in for free.

Chris Wheal was not so lucky. Despite having registered his interest in being a subscriber some time ago, he found himself locked out for two hours and 40 minutes. He explains what happened on the Daily Finance site this this posting Times paywall suffers early day issues.

NB: Six minutes ago, a Times+ customer service person admitted to Chris Wheal in an email that there had been "a technical problem on the direct debit page" that has "now been resolved."
